KARISMA AND ABHISHEK GET ENGAGED!
The Bollywood lovebirds are set to marry!

The moment has finally arrived! Bollywood lovebirds Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan have gone public about their relationship.

The couple, who have kept their relationship private for years, will officially become engaged on the 11th October. This is also the date of Amitabh Bachchan's birthday!

Only close friends and family will be invited to the occasion, which is bound to become one of the biggest Bollywood parties of the year.

Suppose he has done ok. His film career has flopped as he just doesnt have the skills or face to make a top actor like his father and now he is marrying a top bollywood actress.

How abt this COMMENT buffy!?

Ab jr. will babysit the children while mommy works

since nobody really wants to see him anymore. it is safe to say that ab jr. will be playing the role of MR. mom. he will drop the kids off at school and pick them up. also he will do the laundry, the dishes, and vaccum the house. while karisma brings in the dought. and if that will not be enough father in law amitabh may give them monthly money to take care of the kids. it must be hard for karisma to just work alone.

unless ab jr. joins t.v. serials (a resurrsection for flop actors)

*** My apologies to AB jr.

How abt this one?

Karisma's baby will be tall, bigpiped, white & blueeyed

:

Abhishek is tall and has deep pipes

Karisma is white and is blue eyed!

Their kid's going to be a superstar with all assets. Karisma is fiesty so she's gonna prepare him !!

""SInce Ab Jr. can't deliver hits, he is settling down""

and marrying karisma when it should be the other way around. he will be karisma's chamcha. he will take care of the children while the wife works. heck he is even lucky to marry karisma kapoor. wonder what she sees in him.

\

Another one!!

This is DEDICATED to goodbadmas.

"""I hope Karisma doesn't YELL at Abhishek"""

to much after they get married. I feel bad for junior Ab. :(

*** me TOO, I feel bad for him too, GUYS! give him a BREAK, yaar""!?

ha ha this is funny..... but we all know in reality it will be the other way round. karishma will be cutting down on her films and concentrating on the house and her in laws. You never know marrying karishma might prove lucky for abhishek and he will become a star!!! I remember how ajay devgan's career took off after he married kajol.

and this is precisely what happened to his father...he was a nobody and Jaya already a star when the two started courting....their first hit together was 'Zanjeer' after which Jaya slowly disappeared from the scene whilst Bachchan Sr. never looked back.....i remember Bachchan Sr. saying in an interview recently that he gave about 13 flops before his first hit...maybe he was trying to say something about the number of films his son may need before he turned to giving successful movies at the BO.....given how superstitious filmi folks are, maybe the pater is trying to 'replay' the luck part all over again....who knows.....

Huh? I thought their relationship was made up by the media. They were both not admitting it.

Anyway another reason they are getting married is the unite the Kapoors and the Bachchan and make it one big filmi family.

well actually no...Sr. was terribly gawky in his initial movies...he was downright pathetic in movies like 'Bandhe Haath' and 'Gehri Chaal'....but the intelligent actor that he is he soon figured out his groove.....Jr. has the advantage of his father's hindsight...but alas he is pretty unfortunate....he's made some downright bad choices in movies such as 'Dhai Akshar Prem Ke' and 'Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya'....but with so much going against him, he can only travel but up....so that's a silver lining.....and ofcourse Sr. needs to stop interfering in his career (apparently he even landed up at 'Sharaarat's' dubbing sessions)

Interview

Karisma Kapoor

By Ad-Lib

Karisma Kapoor is on cloud nine these days. The pretty actress got engaged last week after beau Abhishek Bachchan proposed with a huge rock. And just before she took off to New Zealand a day later for a holiday to be with her family, she spoke to Sify about the various turns her life has taken in the past few weeks. Talking about the release of Shakti, her sudden engagement and denying rumours about her quitting the industry, she said that marriage was the last thing in her mind. Excerpts from the conversation...

Congratulations on your engagement with Abhishek Bachchan!
(Smiles) Thanks, but it wasn’t a formal engagement. He proposed to me on September 20 and I accepted. We just exchanged rings at his place but no one from my family was present, as they were all out of the country. The formal engagement is in October.

The last few days have been good for you - first came the Smita Patil Award then the release of Shakti and now the engagement.
I have never planned anything; it’s just that all this came at around the same time. I have had no releases for a while because I am not doing too many films anymore. But now that my serial ‘Karishma’ for Sahara TV should be on air by November, you are sure to see more of me.

How did you feel receiving the award?
It was a great encouragement for me because Smitaji was such a fine actress. I felt great receiving the award from the Deputy PM Advaniji since it proved that all the risks I took were finally worth it. When I started doing offbeat roles, I was told that it would ruin my career but in fact films like Fiza and Zubeida have worked in my favour. They gave me the respect no commercial film did in 12 years of my career.

What about the serial, ‘Karishma’ for Sahara TV?
I am not worried that I am doing a serial for television. What’s the big deal about it; don’t all the Hollywood stars do TV? I have never been an insecure person, I always follow my instinct and this time, it told me I was the doing the right thing in doing the serial. When Akashdeep offered me the serial, I liked the subject very much and also the fact that it will take only 10 days a month, so I will have a lot of time to continue with my films. Also, they are paying me very well (laughs).

You said you worked very hard for your role in Shakti....
Working in Shakti was a very intense experience, as the film was very demanding both mentally and physically. I had to shoot in the hot sun mostly and the locations were very extreme. Running with a child in your hands is a tough job (laughs). My idol, Sridevi was to play the role but when she got pregnant, the film came to me after Kajol, who was doing it, walked out of the movie. I always knew it would be a tough role but it was more demanding than I had expected. All I can say is that I put in my best into the film and I just hope it gets a good response.

What other films are you doing these days?
There is Suneel Darshan’s Mere Jeevan Saathi, Indra Kumar’s Rishtey and Tinu Verma’s Baaz - A Bird in Danger. All these three are different films and I have completely diverse roles in them all.

Now that you are engaged, isn’t the next step marriage and quitting films?
No, not at all. I will not get married for at least another 2-3 years. I have a 250 - episode contract with Sahara. I have many things I want to do today - like do interesting roles and even produce films if good scripts come my way. I agree that I have reduced my film assignments but that is only because I was tired of doing four shifts a day. I did that for a decade, now I want to be selective and work on my terms. I want to do unusual roles and not the regular naach-gaana type of roles. I was tired of being in the number game and am glad that finally I am out of the rat race. But that doesn’t mean I am quitting films. No way, I will always be a part of this industry till the day I die.
