So I wanted to buy a few tamil DVDs (Kandukondain Kandukondain and Kannathil Muthamital), but everywhere I go, they're usually $20.00 (and the movies aren't even new anymore). Do you know anywhere where I can nab these films on DVD for a better price? (possibly $12-$15)

Some places do sell them cheap in the USA, but only in stores for on-line its quite hard.

These two DVDs are worth the extra 5 or 7 dollars. They were the first two 'Tamil' DVDs I bought and I thought the DVD quality was really great compared to 98% of Bollywood (eros, YR, DEI) releases.

As for paying the extra few dollars I have to say that personally I am in the habit of patonizing my local Indian DVD stores. I end up paying a few dollars more sometimes but nothing can beat the experience of actually walking into a store and hand picking the item. Tamil films in my area (San Jose California) are usually a few dollars more expensive than Hindi films for some reason but I still prefer to buy them from the store than online. I am all about giving my money to the local community (mom&pop) store over giving my money to the evil empire, even at the expense of a couple $. Anyway, without asking my local Indian DVD store gives me a free CD of my choice with a $40.00 purchase! Karma works :) That's my rant.

What was I talking about anyway??
Oh ya, don't feel bad about having to pay the couple of extra $ for these two DVDs they are well worth it.

Where in San Jose do you buy your stuff from? I live near the area (closer to SF really), and have trouble finding Tamil DVDs anywhere, except Raaga... and a total of $22.00 (including tax) is a bit steep, considering my local Hindi dvd waala gives me new hindi dvds for $15.

Ayngaran and Pyramid both hold high prices for all their DVDs including old ones just like Yashraj for Hindi ones.

It will be hard to find really low prices unless its a pirate or retailers sometimes selling ex-rentals.

I go to Raaga and yes they are $22.00 which is steep. But every once in a while they put them on sale (they had a 2 for $30.00 sale recently) and they have a sale bin too. There is a store called Taal that is about three blocks from Raaga on El Camino and Wolfe Rd. They are about $20.00. They have a few Tamil films. (everything is more expensive in California, sigh..)
