for me: very very high

the movie is stylish. has great star cast. Karisma has supposedly done the BEST acting of her career..Nana is just going to be brilliant as always. Sanjay Kapoor is always great in negative roles..PLUS SRK + AISH!

movie even has a script, - however, that may be the movie's weakness there, as women-oriented movies usually don't do too well...

opening will be outstanding. but as always it will depend on the script for the rest....

Not that I much expect from any bollywood movie, I will certainly watch this movie. I'd say it looks impressive from the trailers but all movies do, right?
Majority of indian movies coming out so far are popcorn movies and they are worth watching once. Give me more movies like Monsoon Wedding and I'd take bollywood movies more seriously.

The movie surely looks impressive and i think the stars are gonna turn out great performances. I don't think Sanjay Kapoor is doing a negative role in the film. His character is a positive one. It is Nana Patekar who is the negative character here.

I personally think this film will be a bastardised and weaker version of the original classic south Indian film, and as we know with Hindi films they always cock-up with re-makes. Look at Hum Tumare Hain Sanam, Om Jai Jagdish, Dayavan, Nayak, Biwi No 1 etc...!

The song Ishq Kamina has more so runined my anticipation for this film. Such a cheap gimmick to have Rai is no place for a serious and violent drama, which was also one of the weaknesses the original screenplay had. One would have thought it would have been improved, but it looks like a staight-rip off.

No doubt performance will be good from the cast, but I know the screenplay will fall short, as always had in all the films made by director KV. The same will happen with Kushi too, coming later on in the year!

There is even rumours that Boney Kapoor is set to remake the awful Tamil comedy Charile Chaplin!!! Please pick a decent subject matter to remake like Yash Chopra & Mani Ratnam has done with thier forthcoming production "Saathiya" a remake of the well made Alay Pauthey!

I know that Shakti is a remake of Anthapuram, but what are the original films for OJJ, HTHS, Dayavan, and Biwi No. 1? What will Shakti be about?

Well one thing positive going for Shakti is that Krishna Vamsi is in a totally different league than any of the directors of the mentioned films. The negative is that its too violent for its own good

I have never seen any of the Tamil accept for Nayak and Dayavan. Nayak as far as I know is scene by scene remake of the Tamil version made by the same director. So I don't know how Shankar could have cock up... Nayak anyway was a bad movie. Funny most of the Tamil films are already bad and I don't why the Hindi directors have to copy them. Surely they come with better material. Ok Alai Payuthey is good but rest is just crap...Anyway why is Shakthi the power spelt Shakthi and not Shakti. In Hindi no one pronounces Shakthi??? Is because the director is south indian?? I just think its wrong to mess up names like that...

a lot of our film producers/directors/actors are more and more believing in numerology and hence i think must have added the h to shakti cos it was lucky for them.......

Nope I did not include Priyadarshan in the list. IMO Shankar's film except maybe Hindustani dont have any soul. He is a master of grandeur and excess. I was strictly referring to your failed movie list "Look at Hum Tumare Hain Sanam, Om Jai Jagdish, Dayavan, Nayak, Biwi No 1 etc...!". I wasnt referring to directors of the originals

I wonder which post you read. :baaa: :stupid: :ffs:

And yeah Krishna Vamsi has to g a long way before I compare him with Maniratnam
