Lamhe, one of the REAL CLASSICS of Indian cinema.

>Moments, which I still cherish about watching this movie when I was young and had limited understanding of what cinema means yet how much I could appreciate it.

>Moments I cherish where I realized movies is just not about "dishum-dishum" or loud dialogues or over the top action, but it is another "ART".

>Moments I cherish when I could see what Yash Chopra meant by "Love" and understood that love-stories aren’t just about a rich guy and a poor girl or vice versa. Honey Irani´s script was not just unconventional, but equally sensitive and mature. Probably the three things that would seperate Lamhe from many other love stories of its time.

>Moments I cherish when I realized a great actor who excelled in many different roles(tezaab, Meri Jung, Saaheb) can give a performance that shows so many shades of his character with so much ease and not only touches your heart but goes down into the book as his best performance(this is obviously from the writer´s perspective).

>Moments I cherish when I saw Sridevi playing 2 contrasting characters with utmost ease that at the end of the movie you realize that in reality they were the SAME characters and not contrasting.

>Moments I cherish when I saw the legend Waheeda Rehman dance at that age to "aaj fir jeeni ki tamanna hai . aaj fir marneka irada hai"..made me realize that her charisma would never fade and she will be the legend she is.

>Moments I cherish about Anupam Kher when he made us realize that friendship is never "give and take". True friendship all about "giving"

>Moments I cherish when I saw the "rajasthani" backdrop in the movie so immaculately portrayed by Yash Chopra, where you want to forget what you are doing and go to that place to feel the essence of "Morni Baga ma dole aadhi raat ma"

>Moments I cherish when I realized that the character of "Kunwar Viren Pratap Singh" not only haunts Pooja when she leaves him, but also haunts the audience when they leave the theatre. Same applies to the character of "Pallavi" which haunts Viren and the same for the audience. In a way, Yash Chopra brilliantly encompasses the moments of love, laughter, fear, and sorrow throughout the movie which continue to haunt the audience for time to come . In short, Yash Chopra is able to express to the audience what he actually wanted to say with "Lamhe" aka moments.

>Moments I cherish about the excellent music given by "Shiv-Hari" and the mesmerizing yet nostalgic picturization of Rajasthan or showing the various shades of love in "Kabhi Main Kahoon, Kabhi tum kaho" or the various shades of laughter as shown in a parody.

>Moments I cherish about the breath-taking cinematography be it the essence and the culture of Rajasthan or the beauty of Europe all put together on celluloid. From the elegant "havelis" or mesmerizing” deserts" of Rajasthan to the picture-perfect daffodils and tulips of Europe, such fine details only added to the feeling of "love" which Yash Chopra wanted to convey.

>Moments I cherish when I recall listening to "Yeh Lamhe, Yeh Pal hum, Barson yaad karenge, yeh mausam chale gaye to, hum fariyad karenge" in the background, signifying the various real moments of life which Anil Kapoor is going through, be it moments of Love or Laughter or fun or sorrow.

>Moments I cherish about the great dialogues by Masoom Reza, which might not be strong on vocabulary, but could capture the various aspects in the context. Be it the classy "thakur" feeling or the marwari dialect through various characters.

>Moments I cherish when I recall the tribute which Yash Chopra has paid to all the "Dais" who have nurtured their culture into the kids when they grow up and giving them the same respect as a mother. Waheeda Rehman´s portrayal of a "dai-jaan" is so convincing that when she says to Anil Kapoor "aaj tumne Kaha to Mujhe Yaad aaya, mera bhi ek ghar hua to karta tha..lekin tumhein sambhalne mein main bhool gayee. Ab to mere kanon mein bas tumhari hi awaaz ghumti hai dai jaan dai jaan daai jaan" that you actually realize what the contribution of a "dai"is. What a tribute from Yash Chopra.

>Moments I cherish when many in the theatre clapped their hands at the end of the movie and the fact that Anupam Kher recited the song "Kabhie Kabhie mere dil mein, Khayal aata hai..ke tujhko banaya gaya hai mere liye" and proved this movie was indeed made for those who love good cinema.

Lamhe, one of the REAL CLASSICS of Indian cinema.
