I happened to be in the neighborhood of the only Indian video store I know of in Indianapolis. I decided to stop in and possibly pick up a few things I've been meaning to get. Anyway, I picked up Company and Legend Of Bagat Singh. They looked original to me. Anyway, I got them home and they look very bad. Legend has non-removable English subtitles (I assume this DVD was made from a release print). Company has no subtitles at all! It's absolutely of no use to me. I would expect this kind of thing to happen with something like Devdas or Monsoon Wedding where there is no official release yet. But at the very least, if they were going to sell bootlegs of titles that have been out for several months, can't they at least replicate the official versions??
Needless to say, I'm going to have to return Company since there's no way I can watch it without subtitles.
Serves me right for not getting them from India Weekly!
