BTW Sanjay, Asoka's audiography was done by the old-school guy, Rakesh Ranjan. The sound effects (which were fantastic) were done by the same guy who did Jungle; Dwarak Warrier. The The reason why I didn't even include it in the best sound list is because the film used the usual ADR (dubbing) for voice - which can only be as good as sync if painstakingly recreated in a studio and polished digitally - which Indian films never pay enough attention to. The voices are always somewhat disembodied from the actors. Worse still, even the best "dubbed" films like Asoka or Dil Se, sometimes have out-of-sync parts, especially new, inexperienced or bad actors. Just for some trivia, no film "ADR"ed all the way has ever won an Academy award to my knowledge - and rightfully so in my opinion. Nakul Kamte has done a commendable job in re-introducing location sound to Hindi films.
