It is not even TJCG...No way!
Then what? it is Different, as FILM theme is DIFFERENT here!

Firstly..I 'll SUM it up as V .GOOD!!even if it is not like ONE of the ABOVE!
SECONDALLY! concur with Nath! It was DISGRACE to open this ALBUM with ISHQ KAMINA! Thu Thu!
They did not open DEVDAS with DOLA RE DOLA1 why this album was opened with this KAMINA song!
It should be to the END! as it does not go WITH the rest of the ALBUM, of DARBAR/MEHBOOB.
First Listen: Songs have VERY HIGH MELODY/HUMMABLE:
U can tell, influence of DEVDAS/HDDCS, here and there! but it was same with DEVDAS, but as SONG proceeds it gets different.
OVERALL>>>album, is SLOW, but VERY MELODIOUS and HUMMABLE! in few listens.
Nath..still counts, 4 songs to be GOOD! , so excluding, KAMINA and MUSIC TRACK, what r we left with, 1 or 2 more!
First track..Hum tum mile..resung by Kavita is HIGHLIGHT, I think, after YRPK(forgotten, already) DARBAR, used ADNAN SAMI's vocals vERY/EXTREMELY..effectively. Kavita is Extremely GOOD too...slow, romantic.
BTW! Sami, has its own, kinda vocals, unique style, like SUKHWINDER, SHUBHA MUDGAL etc, so if he sounds NASAL to some body! I am not going to go with or against that!
But..bottom line, here is HIS vocals suits this SONG very well!
2nd track..Jhoomti Ghata maen..Sung very well by Mohd Salamat, after him given Excellent support to KAVITA to walk away with AWARD for HDDCS title track..he FITS perfect in this track, we do MISS Kavita here!
Tune/Lyrics are simillar to CHAND songs from HDDCS/DEVDAS/TJCG!! But still, GOOD listening.
3rd Track..E. Chand..by Kavita is kinda Lullaby, for Kid! no match to LATA/Rehman,s songs from ZUBAIDA! passable.
4th track:...Dumroo..baje re..First time DARBAR uses Sukhwinder Singh..Extremely well suited vocals to this song!
Very RUSTIC feel to it..Song starts as Dholi taro, goes through, CHALAK CHALAK and then SETTLES with its OWN personality..GIVE IT A FEW LISTENS>.U will love the DRUMS and BEATS!
5th track:..Mere Munna Raja::very lovely, rustic, melodious KIDDY song, with Karishma's vocals to start, Kid's giggles, beautiful rhythums, and anuradha's soothing vOCALS, kinda remind u of "Bano rani" of Rehman from 1947..earth..Very pleasant.Situational..indeed.
6th track:..Dil ne pukara...by Alka/with Sami, haunting humming in back ground. Sensuous, romantic number..give it a second listen.
7th track: Hum tum mile by KAVITA..best track as discussed before.
8th track:Jhoomti Ghata..Instrumental..good.
Overall, i'll give it 8/10, comparing to Darbar's previous EFFORTS, that had been always 10/10 calibre..consistently.
Kamina song..is a soar point of the album IMO, even if it wont be there for COMMERCIAL reasons, album should be able to stand on its own on DARBAR/MEHBOOB's shoulders.
It is totaaly HALLMARK of DARBAR's own style of INSTRUMENTATION and COMPOSITIONS!!
Why DARBAR did not COMPOSE..KAMINA song..I'll say GOOD for him..this sUITS very well to ANU/SAMEER's DOMAIN/Calibre.
I wont call it a WINNER per se! on the lEVEL of HDDCS/DEVDAS/TJCG..But very consistent EFFORT by DARBAR! indeed.
I personally think, songs will flow with FILM's SERIOUS theme really well, giving VIEWERS necessary relief and Break from, vOILENCE!
LOBS was NOT rehman's BEST ALBUM, on the level of LAGAAN/RANGEELA/DIL SE/TAAL, but still, ranks in VERY GOOD rehmanish style for him.
I dont think, Shakti..the power will find as many faithfuls as DEVDAS did...But may be more infidels for KAMINA hit only.
For ISMAIL DARBAR fans..it is a MUST BUY..IMHO>
