Its not Shemaroo that cut it, its the print they got hold of.

So its the India Cut they have rather then the / Europe Cut ... Oh wel, didn't like that song anyway always used to make me cringe when amithabh sings that song, some songs he sings well, but i just hate that song for some reason.

BTW is the song Har Chhori Rani Yahan Sung by the Comedian Amithabh on stage in the movie shorterned in Length? cause That is a good 7-8 mins song in the movie originally and I am sure wen i watched it on Max it was shorterened, again maybe censored??

This just prevented me from buying this release then ... thanks for the update. I am looking for the complete version especially with that song which my parents, particularly my father, really like.

true, i remember my parents were moist eyed after this song.
Its actually one of Bachchans best songs in his voice, as he is still in the old man's character when singing!

and yes, the 'Har Chori rani..' song is heavily cut: intro, middle and end. This was actually an annoying song for me as a kid, but as i got used to its madness from Bachchan & Kishore, it just makes me laugh. The song end has Amitabh being booed off stage, and audience saying "apne aap ko amitabh bachchan samajta hai kya?" - crazy stuff

Well, i guess this print was cleaner and more available.
But the sound SUCKS!, Esquire VHS kicks ass of Shemaroos DVD.

As good as it looked initially its now its the pits! COME ON! Why cant we get a decent version of this flick among other AB flicks (Satte Pe Satta and Yaraana) dying to get proper restoral on DVD. Now we have another format (Blu Ray) which is pointless since once again it will take forever to get proper releases on this format as well. I am totally and royally PISSED OFF AS MANY OTHERS ARE AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
