There is a new cover for the Ram Gopal Varma film "Shiva" at evpdvd.com. I emailed them asking whether it is a remastered disc and I got this weird reply:

I think they are the same. Mainly because I dont see 'English subtitles' on the cover. If it was redone, they would probably added the subtitles. Yeah the old cover was pretty bad. So not a bad marketing ploy

If I see any of the DVDs with new covers in the rental store, I will update here

the other reason for the new cover could be because pirates replicated some of EVPs DVDs and so, they are trying to replace covers to attract new buyers.

Anyway, Shiva is one of the worst DVDs done by EVP but still better than 90% if EROS and YRF trash.

Folks...anyone who happens to buy these dvds please confirm if its progressive or interlaced... KP told me that the Santosham DVD is interlaced..which is sad indeed

actually, I think these titles with new covers infact DO have subtitles!

Family Circus DVD doesn't state Subtitles on the cover, but it does have English Subtitles. I am also tempted to buy this Shiva DVD :p I don't know where to purchase them from though all sites/shops have the older versions.

Pav, you can buy the DVDs straight from EVP at EVP DVD. I believe all the DVDs are $16.95 including shipping.

I'm a lazy b***** to write checks, to make phone calls. heh. I like I click buttons :-p

I guess I will have to give that dude a call soon.
