I'm writing an article on sex and censorship in the Indian film industry, and the help I need from you guys is a list of kissing scenes, along with the film which they are from, and if possible, the censor certificate (Indian) the film got. I'm looking for scenes from regional as well as Hindi films, so that I can try to understand the tolerance to kissing and indeed, sex scenes (if they exist!) in the different states of India.

I'm also writing a separate article about the acceptance of nudity/semi-nudity in Indian mainstream films (not the pornos!!) This is for both men and women, so I would appreciate it if you guys can put down some notable scenes in which both the men and women have exposed. I'm thinking of incorporating information about how the heroes have become more open to exposing in the films, so a list of heroes who have had shirtless (or more) scenes in films would also be greatly appreciated.
With the heroines, I would like to talk about the sex symbols from both yesteryear and today, so a list of scenes where famous heroines and vamps have exposed would be great!

Ok here goes some from memory :

1. There is the very first kissing scene in a Hindi film between Devika Rani (& Himanshu Rai methinks...unsure). Cant remember the film though..you'll have to research.

2. Then there's the passionate Vinod Khanna-Madhuri Dixit scene from Dayavan - Certified - 'A'

3. Kissing between Tara Deshpande and Jas Arora in DANGER - I believe the certification was 'A'

4. I am unsure if there was a kissing scene in RAM TERI GANGA MAILI but certainly a waterfall shot of Mandakini with a transparent saree clinging on. This was U certified.

5. There is a nude shot of Rahul Bose in ENGLISH AUGUST though in shadows.

6. Isnt there a kissing scene in BOMBAY BOYS of the person discovering his homosexuality? Dont remember. Certification - Dunno, possibly A

1947 (Earth) is not a Mira Nair film but rather it is directed by Deepa Mehta.
