latest box office figures are out on indiafm. seems the collections have fallen considerably. here is another report from b4u....
http://www.b4utv.com/movies/boxoffice/index.html
Devdas

Compared to the first week collections, the collections in the second week have dipped. The film registered 85% collection in Mumbai and 75% collections in Delhi. Though all the lead stars’ performances have been appreciated, this mega-budget venture has failed to live up to its expectations.

plus percentage is not important..it is the collection

i would have preferred 1.5 cr with 80 % in mumbai
than 95% and 1.25 cr
these are decorative things
but yes it should be over than 60-65%
to pay for theater rentals and earn profits
U KNOW %age is a confusing thing
a movie may get 80% and .80 cr (in 20 theaters)
in Ist week
may get 90% and only .45 cr(in 10 theaters)
in the IInd week
these are tools used by box office guys to misguide
general public

thats officially 1 more week or so.. however unofficially devdas would have recovered its money a while back... money from the distribution rights combined with music and dvd rights would have ensured the film is already making profits.....

After all the hype and adulation, Sanjay Leela Bhansali came to face with the bitter truth. 'Devdas' has turned out to be no Lambi race ka ghoda, as the film's collection has nose-dived at the BO. There has been drastic fall in its collection across the country. Not many people were seen thronging to see Shah Rukh's drunken saga. Going by the reports the film has so far gone down well with only certain section of the audience. But unlike his character, Bhansali emerged triumphed and his work will be remembered for years to come!
