Some bad news about Kaante...........

Kaante seems to be an all-male cast...

(Interrupting) There are heroines too. There is Rati Agnihotri (opposite Amitabh Bachchan), Malaika Arora (opposite Sunil Shetty), Isha Kopikkar (opposite Sanjay Dutt), and US-based actress Namrata Cooper (opposite Kumar Gaurav).

They have definite characters. We chose them because they do not have a set image

6th of September is a way better release date than sometime in August. When schools are back in overseas you need some relief/entertainment at the end of that first week. I always wanted Kaante to keep away from the busy summer (MDK, Devdas, OJJ, Jaani Dushman, etc.) and release in September.

I think its doing quite well here. Its playing in through a major theater chain (English) Cineplex Odeon. They have kept 3 shows daily going on 3 weeks now. I think its a hit overseas, but I hear that in India its touching 18-19 crore which would be fantastic for any other movie, but with Devdas's tag of 50 crore I fail to see how this is good. Overseas is a whole different matter. Its already challenging K3G as the top hit in the U.K. and even if it continues to do excellent in North America it won't bail the distributors out in India. When I went to see it here, at a matinee show, there were nearly 30 people, and that is good for a matinee show for a Indian movie.
