Lucky u Brits dudes!

The much-awaited epic Devdas, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai, is set to release in the UK one day early.

The big budget movie will hit the big screen on Thursday 11th July 2002 in several cinemas throughout the country.

Tickets for a number of screenings are already on sale and have started selling at a fast rate, which suggests that demand is very high.

Devdas is expected to have a high entry on the UK charts but whether it comes close to beating the opening record set by Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham is yet to be seen.

got handed some free tickets for the movie on the 11th at the Printworks in manchester, on its largest screen... Even though i wished it was Kaante, i might still go and check out what the big hoo-haa is about..

Talkning about Kaante, i had a dream last nite about the movie.. it ended up being like Ziddi

:D

They always promote their film to be being shown in IMAX. IMAX screening requires 70mm print @ 48 frames per sec. I have yet to see a real IMAX Bollywood movie. I don't even know of any Bollywood movie blown up to 70mm even for a much hyped premiere. All they use is a 35 mm print (@ reg 24 frames/sec) which when blown up on IMAX's huge screen looks grainy.
I wish they use at least a 70mm blown up print for the IMAX screenings.

U are right Rana Ji!! I did not mean, to discourage faddy! specially when he was so happy and excited about that, even on the verge of changing his opinion to positive for devdas!

Not only! bolywood, most of hollywood films when presented in IMAX are simply blown up, looking much dark, less resolution and bad..Except..something like Beauty and Beast..that Disney around newyear time, redid, rightfully for IMAX release..It was spectacular!!

Me also went in for out of this world ,grandeur experince to IMAX to watch Laura Croft..Toomb raider amd MIB 2, but came out with less than ordinary, terrible, bitter taste in my mouth..Yes, U do feel, like u are in the film, ur self, but, picture is less than, being optimal, or even GOOD!

But I think, every body should try it once, Just to EXPERIENCe them self..We will wait for Faddy's opinion firstly!? :baaa: :vsneaky:

I hope this doesn't alter topic of this thread, but a quick note on IMAX:
I am waiting for Aish's TAJMAHAL for IMAX. There are many documentries in IMAX, mostly aprox 1/2 hour duration. Tajmahal should have real story (even if biographical) and hopefully will be a full feature length movie.

Ottawa show times are:
7 P.M. & 10 P.M. July 13
1P.M. & 4 P.M. July 14
Theatre Mayfair
Mayfair has excellent projection and screen size is bigger than Albions. It has excellent DTS sound as well; I hope they will get the DTS print. The local exhibitor had promissed me a DTS print of DEVDAS some 6 weeks back. I will phone him to confirm it. If it is DTS, Mayfair screening will be prefferable to cinesphere.

So it is Albion !!!

Too bad, so sad.

Apparently, they have great sound equipment and projection that is not being used. They need time of 2 days when the theatre can be closed to upgrade etc... and they can't find that time.

with so many HIT hindi movies, how are they going to be able to do it.... not even on weekdays... shows are always FULL. :keh:
