I still remember the time when it would take every Hindi film ages (more than a month) to reach DVD, and how it left everything open to piracy. I remember how one day Eros made an announcement that they would crack down on piracy by releasing their films really early, and I was shocked to hear that Hey Ram, a two-week old film, would release immediately on dvd. Good or bad? Well, it could be seen both ways; bad in that the quality suffers, good in that it's readily available.

Now what does that have to do with this? Three days after Humraaz's release in theater (also note that it recieved a good openin), the dvd is released. I think the racing is getting a bit too crazy, at the expense of us, the consumers. I'd rather wait a week for this dvd and get better AV quality, as well as some extra features, as opposed to the standard junk that Eros keeps pumping out. Every single DVD of theirs is literally barebones, at best.

well...do u really expect better quality(A/V) from eros if they wait a bit longer to release it?so they might tune up the color a bit..(as in the case with ntjnh dvd) but the overall picture quality will still be bad...

I second Mr vjmajic2002 view. Given the time Eros still wont be able to produce a good DVD – otherwise you would have at least seen a few good DVD from them by now. Half their DVDs releases are of back catalogue of films – mostly on mediocre DVDs.

People hold the view that if the DVD isn’t released straight away and 6 months down the line that somehow Eros will be working on the DVD for 6 months. No no no! They will still spend the same amount of money and time doing the DVD, only difference will be they’ll use a 6 month old cinema print for the DVD transfer instead of a few week old print!

I doesn't matter how much time they have to make the DVD, EROS will allways produce crap DVDs. I don't think they know what quality means!!!!!
