KBC is discontinued and will also not be returning with any new episodes. Although Star will be premiering a new game show with Amitabh Bachan as the host this coming fall.

i got my dish one year back because there was nothing to watch on weekends, on cable. i like sitcoms.

then i bought the dish thinking that i will be able to see good hindi songs like i used to back when i was in india.

i got five channels and they all sucked.
zee tv shows nothing good, tv asia's picture quality is just awful, sony also shows crappys stuff, zee gold has programs that are yeaaaaars old, b4u only show minutes of songs in few of its programs.

now i'm happy after hearing that i will also be able to see star.
well my dish bill will rise to $80, and $50 for the cable damn :0

i really liked channels like EL TV(i'm not sure) that only showed songs, wonder why we don't get those on the dish here in U.S.

In the US, DirectTV and Dish Network will merge pending an approval from the FCC. This depends on what anti-trust laws dictate. If these two merge, then there will be no other small satellite dish service provider in the US, so it could be an obstacle.

The best channel I find in india is Channel [V]. The music's cool and they take the piss out of bad Hindi movies. Unfortunately it got "banned" in Singapore.

i have Star in the UK, and the programming isn't the same as in India. It airs the same programmes, but most of them are behind India. KBC is still being shown on a daily basis here, so I'm assuming it'll be shown in the US as well.

Does Star have many programs that shows hindi songs? That would be the only reason for me to subscribe to a TV channel.
