Having worked a long time with the gorgeous Mrs Nene, he is full of praise for her. “I’m very close to Madhuri. She’s taught me a lot and she’s been very kind to me – even when I started out and she was a huge superstar. In Anjaam she’d cover up my dancing disabilities and in Dil To Pagal Hai, she’d say ‘just hold my hand and I’ll act as if you’re leading'!"

Veering the topic back to Madhuri, he confesses: “Some scenes in the film with her were very nice. I feel very warm towards her. You know that line where she says nobody loves Chandramukhi and I turn around and say, but I love you? It’s not in the original or in the script. I told them I wanted to say it. The director was unsure because I don’t say it to anyone else in the film! But it’s that sort of warmth I share with her. I think she’s absolutely lovely.”

Explaining his bond with Aishwarya he smiles broadly. “Aishwarya looks just like me! We played twins in Josh so we’re equal in the looks category!" he jokes. "She's professional: always prepared and such a marvellous dancer, just like Madhuri. Like I said, it’s a difficult job, sitting there drinking, watching two beautiful women dance for you and getting paid for it!”

HE ALSO SAYS:

“I really enjoyed shooting that death scene. We shot it over 13 days because it needed so many special effects. I enjoyed those 13-14 days where he’s just walking towards her house and he’s thinking of things. I understand that.” Breaking away from the fond memory, he jokes, “I don’t understand the rest of the film especially why he didn’t sleep with Chandramukhi (Madhuri Dixit), he should have - she was so sexy!”
