You know this reminds me of something ....

Maybe YRF must have done something BAD with SD (a long time ago... like for example you know the many scenarios in Hindi films when the vamp blackmails the Hero ) ... Lil wonder they get all the authoring stuff for their films !

Super Digital did OK with K3G DVD - picture and sound were pretty good. As long as MYKSH is long the same quality, it should be OK.

K3g okay...you must be joking with an avg bit rate of 3-4 MBPs... I would classify that as a really below par transfer...

I cant see the logo's or the avtaar,s ( i have the links as
mars.jtlnet.com etc etc ) Do I have to change that now ?..If so then all the Movie previews that I did are all gone

Yep sorry - mars.jtlnet.com is gone for good - probably tons of other broken links too. Site is only accessible from http://www.zulm.net/index.php now - anything with http://www.zulm.net will not work.

re:K3G - even with bit rate of ~4Mbit/s K3G is the OK from SD considering the length of the film. I still think its one of the better DVDs they’ve done in recent times. I think Prasad Video mastered K3G would have been worse off – I’ve yet to see a DVD from their labs that is mastered directly from film in progressive mode – all their DVDs for Eros, YRF, Ayngaran and Cinebella are from interlaced sources – sharpness and image quality suffers as a result.

when i went to the video store today i saw a new version of kuch kuch hota hai, and khabhi kushi khabhie gham and it was made by sony are these better then the yrf version

I think, the Sony version is the one with DVD rights in India. I saw all these DVDs (including DCH, the new 2-DVD set by Sony) in most of the stores during my recent trip to India.
I didn't get a chance to look at the video and audio quality as none of the stores had DVD player for testing the DVDs.

Just to clarify some of sknath's earlier postings in this thread:
(as he is not participating in zulm forums for long, I'll clarify his statements earlier in this thread)

sknath's pref for Prasad and calling K3G as bad PQ was before he knew about Progressive encodings. Later he did change his opinions/ assesments as per his later postings in various threads.

If I remember correctly, these dvds cost Rs. 349 each except DCH which costs Rs. 499.
