I saw the DEI version of Tumko Na bhool Payenge and it was cropped (about 1:85-1 ratio). I tried to change the settings from 4:3 to 16:9 on my DVD but nothing changed. The disc seems to be the original, it has Digital Entertainment engraved on the back, the disc cannot skip the ads for Gurdas Mann etc. The menu is similar to the screen shots at Zulm.

Is there another way to fix the aspect ratio.

Obviously, what you picked up is a pirate copy.

May be its not a pirate. I saw this DVD last night. I was able to set player settings to 16:9, letterboxed, or Pan & Scan. In Pan & Scan setting of course you see a little bigger picture but sides are cropped. For a 4:3 TV, 16:9 setting gives vertically stretched picture and Letterbox setting gives 2.35:1 picture letterboxed in a 4:3 frame. I wonder if your DVD settings were set for Pan & Scan instead of "Letterbox"?

THIS IS THE FIRST DEI ANAMORPHIC DVD I HAVE SEEN WHERE THE PAN & SCAN SETTING WORKS.

Finally, I saw this movie in full and found it even more interesting than when I just scanned it. I don’t know what else is required of an entertainer that the movies are supposed to be. Preaching and teaching should better be left for professionals.

I missed seeing this movie in the theatre by a narrow margin. The difference was just to put my foot down and say “GO” to others in the group who were dilly dolling. I didn’t see this DVD so far, as I was hoping for a DTS release. Finally, I had a chance to borrow/ rent this DEI DVD and found this movie to be very interesting and definitely to my liking. This is all that I want in a movie; entertainer masala movie. Many catchy and colorful song-dance numbers. Of course the DEI DVD is excellent. Ali had reported that the video is a bit squashed, but I didn’t notice it anywhere. Looked for some circular objects and they were not squashed at all. I must admit that in a few shots the faces looked a bit (very little) squashed, but can’t be judged with any certainty.

I will be buying the 2 DVD version of this movie soon. I wish a DTS version releases too.

BTW: I think I am the one on zulm who has objected to DEI squashed video often, but for this DVD I don’t have this complaint.

I/ we never mentioned it before although I did suspect/ notice that this squashed video problem exists in some of the EROS-DEI 1.85:1 DVDs as well. I found it quite noticeable (recently) in BORDER DVD.
