While the DVD will be available on October 22nd, the film will only be available for a ten week period, after which the disc will be pulled from the market. The regular edition will be priced at $22.95 while the special edition is $69.98.

Unfortunately, the original cut is only going to be available on the more expensive gift set. If I do feel that I must own this film, I will probably get the gift set used at Movie Trading Co.

Speaking of E.T. Can anyone name the "original" story & screenplay writer of this Hollywood Classic? Here's a hint, it wasn't Melissa Mathison. ;)
