Ugh, what a travesty. Chopping half the frame to make a phony CinemaScope image and adding fake, pastel colors to a film is a bad idea.

The really sad part is, that not one person from the film fraternity or from the media said one word against this. Is there actually no one in the industry or the media who understands or cares about authencity and or the original works of a director?

But in reality, it did not make any money. The producers failed to realize that the potential viewer for such films is the movie connoisseur, who is the last one to want to watch the butchered results of these moronic producers greed.

Sure the distributor lost big time but he had to have paid someone for the distribution rights..

I really don't know what to say! It is the worst job in digital restoration done ever. The colours are really fake and are badly mixed. And to top it all, the top-bottom portions cropped off to give a phony widescreen image!

an insult to such a classic.

newDEEP told us earlier :-
Quote:
Dev Anand said that the film is a romantic one, so there's no harm in watching it cropped

That's lame! Why did he want his own and his family's film to get destroyed?

I really doubt whether the song "Jahan Mein Aisa Kaun Hai" aka "Dukh Aur Sukh Ke Vaaste" aka "Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar (2) picturised on Sadhana and Dev Anand is in the colored version.

I think they've deleted it.

Can someone who saw the colored version confirm?
