All right, first of all, to dispell rumors, the three films are not going to be exactly the same thing. They are not all remakes of the Mahendera Kapoor classic "Shaheed" (Only Shaheed 1931 is). Additionally, looking at the movies, we can see that each is going to appeal to a different niche of audience.
LOBS: Legend of Bhagat Singh, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Ajay Devgan. An ace director and an excellent actor, both of whom aren't known for delivering hits. However, they are known for quality and dedication. LOBS is going to be a critically acclaimed film, probably the one most appreciated by the critics. Looking at the music by AR Rahman, one can see a lack of Punjabi flavor. LOBS is probably going to be a good record of Bhagat Singh's life, with excellent sets and everything designed to give a social message. Everything also looks set to appeal to an international audience as well. However, we can see that this movie is going to lose a lot of the authenticity of Bhagat Singh. That is, to say, there won't be the essence of Punjab, or the authenticity of the feeling that one should get. However, LOBS is still going to be an excellent film. Focuses more on Bhagat Singh's life and dramatizing it. Probably average-hit, but will do well overseas.
Shaheed 1931: Directed by, Guddu Dhanoa, a director not known for good films and starring Bobby and Sunny Deol. Bobby Deol isn't quite known for giving hits, or excellent performances, but based on the trailers, he could do a great job in this film. The film seems to be aiming directly to the masses. Those that want to see their favorite stars in a film, want to see a film made on the same Bhagat Singh they learned about in their history books, and a film that entertains. This film will also appeal to fans of the original "Shaheed", as this is rumored to be a remake. Litening to the music, one can hear the flavor of the old "Shaheed" throughout, as well as a good flavor of Punjab. Probably will end up a big hit. The film looks to be an action-packed one.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh: There is almost no awareness of this film at all, and that probably will lead to the failure of it. Unkown director; unknown stars; overlooked soundtrack. Looking at the film, and listening to the soundtrack, one can get a very authentic Punjabi feel in this film. After all, the film is coming out of Punjab. The music sounds very Punjabi, with very Punjabi singers. Out of the three, this film will probably retain the most authentic feel, and will probably be similar in feel to "Shaheed Uddham Singh" (in which we got to see Bhagat Singh played by Gurdas Mann). However, since there is no awareness, and already two Bhagat Singh films, though this movie should end up being good, it will probably flop, except in Punjab.
