yes the dvd of Monsoon wedding will be relasing in the third week of May. However Film4 new strategy involves relasing a rental version at a slightly hiked price £25 a month before it hits retail stores..Expect this version to have no extras unlike the retail version which will include an audio commentary by Mira nair and Cast and crew interviews..

This is a definite release as it was on the order sheet for my english films...

Lagaan at retailer price is showing up at 17.99 which is surprising as retailers are meant to get these dvds a a few pound less than consumers

SplashDVD still have it for £14.99 delivered (most places in Europe).

Definite pre-orders for me on Monsoon Wedding and Salaam Bombay! Little more on the extras here;

The retail DVD has commentary from directory Mira Nair - but hope this isn’t the actual retail cover, looks more of an advert!

BTW search on tesco.com (UK only) and there's also a Monsoon Wedding Box Set coming out same day! No details as to what it contains though ???
