As mentioned by a couple of you guys, the celebration of Bollywood is about to start at Selfridges. Here's some info from a couple of websites:

Quote:
HOORAY FOR BOLLYWOOD
If you are a Bollywood beginner, what better way to get to know this amazing culture than at your favourite store. Throughout May both London and Manchester will be transformed. This is a celebration the likes of which our customers have never seen before - a world packed with energy and diversity, full of gorgeous sounds and visual imagery, rich fabrics, colour, contrast, music...the list is endless.

Expect something different at Selfridges in May and expect it to be on an epic scale. There's a host of special events and celebrity appearances lined up so keep an eye on http://www.selfridges.com for details.

Bollywood at Selfridges is proudly bought to you by our major sponsor Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces with kind support from Channel 4, Air India, King Fisher, Tea Board of India and Mac. You can experience a real taste of India when top Taj chefs take over our restaurant kitchens.

On a more serious note, throughout May we will be raising money for Street Kids Community Villages, a children's charity in Vijayawada in South India (http://www.skcv.com). We have already donated £30,000 towards a new village and school and will be continuing our fundraising with your help. If you would like to make a donation, please call 020 7318 3395 and quote SKCV Children's Charity

AB leads Bollywood celebrations in Britain
Amitabh Bachchan will join a host of Bollywood film personalities to celebrate 23 1/2 Days of Bollywood, a festival organised by Selfridges in Britain in May.

The festival will be held at Selfridges' departmental store on Oxford Street in London and at its branch in Manchester.

The festival will run at Selfridges May 3-26 and aims to be the biggest celebration ever mounted of Bollywood's film culture in Britain.

The entire store is being transformed for the festival with film sets created Nitin Desai, one of Bollywood's most celebrated set designers.

The Selfridges show will include appearances by stars, film dance shows, film screenings, fashion shows, interviews and discussions with leading authors and a full-scale recreation of a Bollywood star's mansion.

India's fashion and interior designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have designed the Bollywood Star mansion, based on the home of actress Dimple Kapadia.

The season will also feature a series of lectures and discussions with leading authors including Justine Hardy, Chris England, Nasreen Munni Kabir, Ruchir Joshi, Anita Nair, Shyama Perera, Hari Kunzru, William Sutcliffe, Ismail Merchant and Manju Malhi.

And I was also able to get my hands on the Selfridges book on the celebration. The programme is as follows:-
May 6 - 12: Dance Week, Performances by Ganesh Hegde and Honey Kalaria
May 13 -19: Music Week, Bollywood acts, DJs..etc.
May 20 -26: Costume Week, Fashion shows, palmists and henna painters. Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla also present.

Have fun!

Of course! I'm just finishing off the camera film and as soon as I've done that I'll scan the pictures and let you have a look.

Just to let you know. I got close to him. I spoke to him and made him laugh just the way he does in the film aankhen after he say "The game begins now!" :)

You ought to come down to London. Hrithik will be over at Selfridges on the 14th at 7pm. I got some inside information too! Aamir is also expected and so is Ashwariya!

I saw AB at selfridges on Friday. Boy was there a crowd, the security at selfridges did not know what hit them. They shut down part of the store as it was over crowded.
I managed to see AB with his chrasmatic appearance and he seemed to be enjoying meeting the people and signing the dvd. I have a couple of photos (they are not brilliant but Ok) but I don'nt know how to post them on the forum.

Faddy or Ali please help.

I've got to say, AB is one of the nicest guys I have met. He had absolutely no airs about him and was really friendly. I was expecting him to just sign an autograph without even looking at me, and was very pleasantly surprised when he shook my hand and very willingly posed for photos!!

The new breed on Indian actors should take some lessons from this legend, and stop looking in the mirror!!!
