Some info about the actual quality of the DVD would be nice.

Can you get some screen shots?

In the DVD there is a 6 minute promo for RainCoat. So expect Raincoat also from Baba.

I don't see any indication of Field Averaging in any of the shots given above.
It seems to be Pseudo-Progressive and may be 24 fps Progressive if BEI got to author it, like Bawarchi that too initially was a Baba DVD authored by DEI.

i always thought musafir would be released by eros. isnt baba digital a company that distributes old movies? i saw musafir on the eros site but i guess i was wrong. by looking at the screen shots, the dvd looks like crap..blurry picture.

How did Baba get the videotape so quickly from which to make a DVD? I'm wondering if they actually own the rights to this one.

The early version from T-Series yes had ads and burnt in subtitles. There was a version later released with removable subtitles, 5.1 audio and no ads. I think I posted the shots from the DVD somewhere here on Zulm.net check the pinned topic for DVD shots, otherwise I will post the link later on, too lazy right now :)

Baba seems to have the North American rights for theatrical, as well as, Video/DVD rights. Looks like they have figured out how to maximize their return on investment by releasing DVD instead of mostly money loosing theatrical showings.

What's the point to make a DVD from a VHS or Video when they have access to 35mm film??
