No, I mean aish's head looks shorter and wider than it's supposed to be in some scenes, especially when the camera is very close to her head.

Thank you for the link, DragunR2. Now I know it's a problem found long before. Now my question is whether this problem has been fixed in the newer BEI(Bollywood Entertainment) version. Does anyone know this? If the BEI version is exactly the same as the DEI version, I'm going to look for the Video Sound version. I cannot bear the distored pictures.

The BEI discs are all the same as DEI. The Video Sound version is cropped and doesn't have as good picture quality.

I know. But as least, actors' faces look more normal in Video Sound version. Don't you think so?

Neither one is entirely satisfactory, but if you are watching on a computer, you can resize the window until it looks proportional. On a regular TV, however, you are SOL. So choose whichever one you can tolerate.

I've seen the reviews and screenshots for this dvd on the site, but none of them make mention of the 2:50 aspect ratio which looks vertically squashed compared to the Video Sound dvd screenshots.

Can anyone please comment on this ?

There was a tirade of criticism on zulm for DEI anamorphic DVDs that all were squished somewhat till they fixed the problem starting with JIGAR, Alibaba 40 Chor, sometime in 2001 (current zulm forums started Dec 2001) .
(Search for 'squished' and for 'squashed' words in old forums)

But, despite squished picture, DEI DVDs were superior in video and audio quality of the alternatives. You need AR adjustable screen to fix this problem.

Shemaroo HDDCS is cropped; DEI is not cropped - and has the full AR I think, though somewhat vertically squished. I own both...

In India, a new HDDCS DVD has been released by EROS. Replicated at the dreaded Jet Speed though...
