I wanted to see Reshamiya's Karz but it never made it to the theatre here nor did it's original DVD on rental. DVD rental store said, no one wanted to rent it. Finally, got hold of DVD when the price had dropped. I mostly liked the film and it's modern presentation and music. I had listened to its songs on CD but they never appealed to me. In the film, songs sounded excellent. Story moved a little faster than the orig, skipping boring scenes. As the film is of shorter durattion than the orig, some emotional scenes too got shortened or cut. Urmila in the role of Kamini, sure was much better than Simmi in the orig.

Possible Spoiler:
In the remake, after meeting Kamini, Monty tells Kamini early on, that he is reborn Ravi. Change in story line is OK but later on they forgot about it and the climax dialogs stayed the same as if Kamini didn't know who he was.
Not comparing to the original film that was full of emotions and suspense, this new version definitely deserves viewing once. On repeat viewing of old Karz, there is no suspense left anyway. So any discrepancy in suspense doesn't really matter to those who had seen old Karz and now see it on DVD for repeat viewing.
