Another rare Amitabh film is "Paan Khaiye Saiyan Hamaar"
produced by and starring Sujit Kumar. This film is in the Bhojpuri dialect common in U.P. Amitabh has a guest appearance who comes in the film's climax. He is amazing in the role of Nar Singh, a 'lathi' fighter who is challenged by Sujit Kumar. His dialogue delivery is sensational. The charisma really comes through. That's what star presence is. None of todays stars has that quality. The film also stars Ranjeet and has Rekha in a guest appearance but not in any scenes with Amitabh. Released in 1984, the film is worth seeing just for Amitabh's guest appearance. I remember renting the video when it came out thinking it was the latest Amitabh starrer as the cover had a big picture of Amitabh and Rekha.

Damn... i think i need that movie for my collection!! Anyone in the UK got a PAL transfer of the movie on VHS!!

I saw Saudagar on video maybe 9 or 10 years ago. I forget what it was about, but the songs were very good. I think the music was by Ravi.

Saudagar was a Rajshri production..he was paired with Nutan and then with the future vamp of Indian cinema..Padma Khanna...

I still had the film somewhere around the house... Used to watch it when I was young just for the AB parts. I'm surprised no one knows about this film sice there are so many hardcore AB fans here. Guess bhojpuri films don't have appeal anymore. BTW AB speaks perfect bhojpuri. Duh! he is from U.P. BTW a little trivia anyone knows AB's real family name?
