Does anyone have both the Tamil and Hindi version? I hear the Tamil version by BMD(Blue Mountain Digital) is excellent from a few sources. You can check the link:

http://www.bmdnow.com/letters/letter.html
http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/reviews/details.asp?Index=1065

On the 2nd link, there's also nice review write up which is good.

From the way people are commenting on BMD's DVDs, which really sounds yummy, I hope they'll be another AYNGARAN (or may be they are already better).

By the way how's the Hindi version?

I have not seen the BMD version myself, but it is permanently enhanced for widescreen TVs, meaning that it is vertically stretched, but the flag is not set on the disc so that it can be squashed back down for 4:3 TVs. Unlike BMD's DVD of "Thenali," there is no alternate Ayngaran version, which will have the 16:9 to 4:3 downconversion flag.

It has been a few years since I saw the Eros version, but I remember it being better than what Eros releases today.

I couldn't get the BMD tamil version as it is out of stock/print. I managed to rent a 2in1 dvd with hey ram. It looks like it's BMD sourced. Heres the shots in power dvd force weave:

I own the Ultra Hey Ram DVD -- it's with Hindi DD 5.1 and Hindi Stereo options, and 5.1 is very nicely done. The picture is non-anamorphic and I need to visit my hometown to check whether PAL or NTSC.
