Aside from the generally mediocre video quality of "Company," I was astonished at the lack of detail, even in extreme closeups. Did Eros perform a highpass filter on this to remove the smaller details? Columbia Tristar is known to do this in order to reduce digital artifacting.

You think ERO$ have time to consider quality? they just ask the labs in India to send a DLT copy of the film on the release date so it then it can be authored onto DVD in a space of a day! There is no such thing in thier books as quality control.

You better off watching the Hindi films on cinema, I suggest you do that before they f*** up the SLB's Devdas DVD!

I am gonna buy the pirate DVD of this film ! (will be cheaper and worth it also)... The detail shots in Company were despicable... Color bleeding and excessive Blockiness... I wonder who authored that DVD !

Would that I could see every Hindi movie in the cinema before it hits DVD, but the theater is 30-45 minutes away!

By the way, that "making of" on Company was, as Spike Lee would say, "EPK bullshit." It told nothing about the making of the film. They just took some stupid TV promo and slapped it on the DVD.

My closest theater is about 1 hour 15 mins away but I make it a point to go there when a good film is releasing. You know never which hindi movie will end up with Eros.

Congress u are lucky u get Zee Tv & Sony Tv and all the other Hindi channels there.. No luck here man and the theatres here are shit ( at least the ones which show the Desi films !)

Yes but you get crap Indian dvds cheaper than me since delivery in Canada from IW is not bad. Guess have to patronize a certain disputed store somewhere in southasia where delivery is free

The reason the theatres that show desi movies are crap is coz is cheaper to rent those theatres. Just goes on to show that bollywood really doesn't give a rats ass about quality.

The directors that do are over voted by the freaking distributors who just want to get as much money as possible both from the theatre run and the DVD sales.

Baap Not exactly correct.. I used to stay in Calgary and I can tell you that desi movies that are released in Calgary are screened in 2 halls there, one is close to downntown (stand alone hall with a good sound system - anyone from Calgary ? Its called Plaza theatre)...and the second one is generally screened in a Cineplex Odeon Cinema Hall ( the smallest one amongst them) but they have a good sound system... I saw there Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the weekend it was released. I am very surprised why cant these folks have such cinema halls in Ontario (esp in Toronto) where there is a huge Desi population ! ( & the best thing of all The ticket prices were 6-8 bucks depending on when u went for the show...as there is not PST in Alberta ) I must say the only thing i Miss abt Calgary are the theatres...
