amazon.co.uk said that it will release on 11th August. Not sure if this is the US release date also.

This was what HMV have said to me:

Thanks for your email.

The release date has been speculated quite alot for this film. The release
date as we have been informed now will be 11th August 2008.

We have also done our own research by looking at what other retailers are
saying, and they are all quoting the same date as previous and some have
changed to 11th Aug.

We hope this helps.

If you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us at
http://www.hmv.com.

Thank you your patience and please accept my apologies for any
disappointment caused.

The DVD includes two, deleted scenes of 10-15 min, featuring 'Birbal' in Akbar's court. I am not sure the running time is for each scene or total for both scenes. Also, the DVD will definately be out before the 15th of August which is the day it is being shown on UTV channel here in India. Sadly there is no news of a Blu-Ray release. :( I think they have had enough time for the Blu-Ray release, if they had any plans at all. Thus I think there may not be a Blu-Ray at al. :( This is one movie that truly deserves a great Blu-Ray. Too bad Sony did not produce this instead of Saawariya, specially considering Lagaan was a Sony film.

According to Amazon.co.uk and play.com, the release date is now 25th August.

Interview with Ashutosh Gowarikar, including mention of the DVD, and the deleted scenes, which will also be shown on TV after the premiere. The version on UTV Movies will be fullscreen though by the sounds of things.

Saw this on TV... it was widescreen. Deleted scenes were shown after the main feature ended. Birbal was there too ;-)
