Hmmm!! ?? Why?

 sent to UL!

To see if it's worth a purchase. It looks very similar to YRF quality, so will probably just end up renting it.

Well, Mike, I'll rate it 7/10 too!! it could have been way better, but is not up to my standard!
I have a very good dvd player and this dvd even being prog, did not look good at all!!

Asambhav..DVD is CRAP..I meant FILM PRINT/PROCESSING/COLORS!!

I did not like this DVD to my taste, as it is STANDARD of AYANGRAN PROG TRANSFERS!

MEDIA is SILVER/SILVER.

Buy for COVER ART only!!

Despite TECHNICAL FINESS FILMING/MAKING/GOOD CAMERA WORK!

THIS FILM, imho, HARDLY have ANY REPEAT VALUE!
It could be viewed once! Specially HRITHIK fans!

Man, his MORONISH/KMG copy act was so boring/idiotic/over act!! that I started feeling sleepy in 40 minutes!! Yawn!!Oh not to forget, disgusting hair doos by JUICE!! LOL!

Climax, esp Cliff climbing on PLASTIC CLIFF, spoiled the effect of entire good technique for me!!
at CLIMAX, take a look at TIRANGA, HRITHIK is sitting on TILED ROOF, man!! PATHETIC!!

The High Def process was a slight waste as the compression card Prasad used let the overall quality down. I see some major pixilation happening during still & slow scenes on my large projector screen.

Overall the DVD is a good effort but the same could have been gotten through thier normal method of doing DVD.

You don't like the look of the film. You would have hated the prints too.

I disagree.
While the MPEG is the weak link of the DVD the master used is far better than what they
normally do. And this master looks the way it does because of the DI and HD approach.
Their normal method on the other hand is rubbish. PAL NTSC conversions with blurry
jerky motion and EE, ringing and aliasing all over the place. Bad MPEG too. No way
their normal method comes even close (see KMG).

Arsh said, it's Progressive.

Screen shots look good. Arsh, were screen caps taken in Force Weave?? If not, they will come out even better in Force Weave.

mhafner already explained the bit budget limitation.

Single stills don't tell the whole story. A close up looks sharper anyway than a wider shot.
Different shots have different detail on the same DVD (your Lakshya shot is one of the
less detailed shots). Motion and other problems can be invisible on single shots.
I compared Lakshya to K3G, MK and a top DEI DVD and Lakshya was sharper than K3G,
about the same as MK (but cleaner) . Only the top DEI DVD (Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge) had
often an apparently sharper picture. The Lakshya transfer with a bit less filtering and better
compression would be second to no other Indian DVD and rival many good Hollywood
DVDs.

it has a correct pulldown but there are 30 steps needed per second, not 24.
I'm not quite sure how they did that, but it looks correct after inverse telecine.

I dont BUY!!, that Lakshya is AS GOOD AS K3G or MK!!

Mk was reviewed with 8/10 score!! and I concur with that!

Asoka will be 8.5-9, just for audio/video

I am DEFIANT here!!Mind u, I have seen the ENTIRE film!

Look at GRAIN on HRITHIK face!
I did see some better details on a few close ups! etc!1
But OVERALL, it is a MIXED BAG!It did not make the CUt for me!!LOL

ASOKA is way better than the other two too!!

how come LAKSHYA could become the SARTAJ INDIAN FILM DVD!!
I dont get rationale!

I'll lump it with Parsad work done, for Ayangran. and Telugu dvds! imho!

Meenaxi, is not exceptionally good either! But lot better than other work Parsad doing for YRF, imho!

Well, yaar, I apologize!! You can cut this LAKSHYA any way you want!! It does not make CUT for me!!
