Here we go again.

The movie was shown in Canadian theatres with an AR of 1.85:1.

In India and Asia, it was reported to be presented in 2.35:1.

Screen shots from Cinebella legal/ illegal DVD clearly are 4:3.
Official Mongrel DVD has been announced as 2.35:1 (see specs above).

There are two theatrical Aspect Ratios. Which one is the Original Aspect Ratio??

Which version shows more picture and why?
Which version shows less picture and why?

Most likely, 2.35:1 version is obtained by matteing top and bottom of the 1.85:1 frame or 4:3 frame. Why are we getting black bars in widescreen TV? If the extra picture at the top and bottom in 1.85:1 version was erroneous, why was it shown in theatres??

These two screen shots show how the movie was filmed (~4:3, still some cropped noticed in this version) and how it was shown in cinemas (matted widescreen);

BH will be playing soon at a local arthouse theater, so I will go see it and tell what AR it is. When BH was running at an Indian theater here, we were also having a film fest there, and I remember going up to the projection room and seeing the print was spherical.

That will be great DragunR2. It will tell us (will confirm) what goes on in film prints and projections.

Time has come when the official Mongrel version of DVD has been released. This time it is 2.35:1 (I hope the specs are true) as opposed to 1.85:1 for Cinebella release. It will be interesting to see how the same shots, that were posted from Cinebella release, appear in 2.35:1 frame from the new release.
