When I received mine I thought it would have a cheap box similar to DVD with the label BLU RAY, I am glad I was wrong and it turned out to be the actual Blu Ray Cover and all.

I have a feeling though the quality of the PQ etc which is good right now is similar to when DVD first released and then it went down hill and off a cliff into no mans land! :? Blu Ray will be headed it that very direction ..

True.. We should be thankful that Eros has taken the lead by releasing a Bollywood DVD on Blu-Ray. Too bad that Sony did not have there act together, and let Eros beat with being the first to release a Bollywood Blu-Ray DVD.

Why should we be thankful to Eros they have done this to make even more money.

first people brought Eros sh*t on DVD and now because this is a new format they know people are going to be buying all Eros titles again on this format (good example of this are Muz, and Izzy who phone Eros and ask them about bluray no wonder eros have made the price very high for this product

I dont under stand the point of ringing them up If the product was/is made they were not going to hide it for god sake

It also tells Eros that people will take any sh*t that is given to them as long as its on a new format.

I think the PQ of Heyy Babyy is good because its from HD

So I guess Eros are going to be putting all there DVD's to Blu Ray but most of there dvds are crap VHS rips I dont think they are going to remaster them lets see

first of all jat1 i am not going to buy there tittles all over again, i dont have heyy babyy or oso on dvd so of course i will buy that on blu only one i would buy again that i have already on dvd is hum aapke hain kaun if the print is way better then there so called dvd version. By the way can i ask you why not phone them? whats it to you if people phone and want info on whats happening, and they were hiding first they said they are taking oso on blu then they said they are not and now they are saying they are so isnt that considered hiding the story about whats going on with that tittle? plus why the heck with they raise the price based on muz, others, and i phoning to inquire about whats happening with the blu products, if you actually see $25 is reasonable for blu, we are lucky it wasnt raised higher, to what so many hollywood tittles prices are about 30, 35, even 40. Plus when dvd started out i remember indian movies going as high as 40 dollars in stores and 25-30 online. So whats the big deal about 25 dollars when some new movies on dvd are around 20-25, i believe heyy babyy dvd was around 20 when it first came out. I agree with ksingh that we should be thankful that eros took the step to blu ray now other companies will start taking movies out on this format as well. They were at least brave enough to take this step, since i bet the majority of indians who dont care about quality or hardly watch hollywood movies, or play the ps3 would have a blu ray player? i bet if it was super digital taking out a movie on blu first you would have been applauding them. So what if they want to make more $ its how they keep the company going, its the exact same thing you can say about hollywood studios taking there old movies out on blu its for them to make $ off it. The only reason hollywood makes good pq/aq for dvd/vhs/ blu is because the mass crowd that buys their products will make a huge fuss about it while us on the other hand wont except for a handful which wont really change a thing, because many people remember the vhs days where horrible cam prints that were shaky, cut, and adverts all around, plus very bad sound were the norm and that was until i was 10 that movies started coming out on dvds that people stil today rave how better dvd prints are then how they used to be then.

That would make them higher the price

They would think people are going to buy the product stright away and not wait for the price drop

As I said they knew people would buy it trust me they would not have taken any sort of risk

this has noting to do with them besides they have always been better at making DVD's then Eros since Eros broke up and sued DEI

Its because Hollywood studios take care and pride in there work

The reason that Bollywood studios/copyright holders are like that is they want to spend very very little on the making of the product and the think of there pocket first.

Example Bollywood DVD's skip and rot because of cheap meda being used I have never heard of a Hollywood DVD that as rotted over time

Hey come on all we want are a few simple answers to:
1. Is the stupid Eros logo still superimposed throughout the film?
2. Does the BD have the forced commercials and promos?
3. Are the player controls disabled during the promos, commercials etc., like the Eros DVDs?

Thanks.

1. No Eros logo
2. No forced commercials, movie start right away .. press menu for popup menu
3. There are no promos or commercials (like their dvds) so nothing is disabled it just jumps right into the movie

Sorry for the delay in answering .. been busy and didnt see this post either.

LOL! Three phone calls got them to release a mid-price BD! Perhaps four phonecalls will get the triple disc Sholay we have all been yearning for.

You want to try to post something smart for a change.

I am sorry jat1, you have your fundmentals all wrong here... eros is not a fly-by-night operator (good or bad quality notwithstanding) and neither is the scale of its operation remotely comparable to that guy's who sells tickets in black outside a cinema hall.

By the way - None of my Eros discs have rotted to date ... most of the rot discs were by Spark / DEI / BEI and Shemaroo discs bought from IndiaWeekly. As far as rotting discs in Hollywood - yes there have been some - Terminator 2, Planet of the Apes (1968), Men in Black: Collectors Edition, Independence Day and the Alien Legacy box set are some examples of mass DVD rot. Try googling DVD rot instead of posting half assed comments that you know nothing about.
