A bad transfer for an awful movie. It's almost like they made it up as they went along. They spend all this money on shooting abroad, etc and no money on the script. I want my $16.99 + shipping back!

The 35mm print I saw looked quite good. There is/was a DI for this film. There is no reason to release a bad DVD than greed, incompetence and indifference. :(

When will these people get the DVD right? I hold of seeing this movie until this weekend so I can enjoy it in my new theater with 12' wide 2.35:1 screen. The quality is bad (still watchable though!).

Are they still sending their PAL Digi-Beta tapes to Chennai Prasad Labs?

After I watched this movie, I played iDream's Aathadu (telugu movie). It looked insanely good!

I don't think YRF releases different versions for North American and for other countries. If they did, they would release separate NTSC and PAL discs. Specially, when the telecine is PAL.

Thanks for the info, was wondering specifically about if the Indian DVD would be cut. :)
It's there on the Indian dvd as well :)
The Indian edition is a 2-disc digipack with an outer slip case (same as in UK/US?)

ok checked out this dvd briefly last night on ym 57" tv.

It does not have the same problem as the Don DVD, with that bizarre artifacting on horizontal pans which mhafner said was because of a field being repeated. It's actually an above average dvd by international standards.

There's compression issues during songs but its not as bad as some other hindid dvds in that regard. Appears to be proper PAL, but the colours are definitely off, you only notice it really in some scenes though. Sharpness is adequate, could have been better, but at least there's no edge enhancement.

So I wasnt too disappointed with this given regular indian standards. Its definitely a step forward, but it should have been taken years ago IMHO.
