A retailer near me in Toronto Canada also said the same thing. Sony-Columbia Tristar will be releasing Asoka next week! I found it hard to believe as I thought we would get some lame a** company releasing this movie here in North America. After reading your post and seeing the link to Indian Blockbuster, I am sstarting to get high hopes.

If it was a genuine Sony/Colombia Tristar release, it would have been picked up by other R1 news sites and some info would have appeared on official CTHV.com website.

Not sure what you mean - Metrodome version is for UK/Europe only and is already out. If you mean Metrodome doing the USA version too - I'm not sure, only person who said this was jolly but as far I know Metrodome only release region 2/0 PAL for UK/Europe.

Either First Look brought the release forward or someone knowing First Look is going to release has passing this release off as genuine.

I emailed First Look Picture a few times asking for info on the Asoka DVD but there not interested in giving anything out. So looks like we’ll only get to know about if this genuine until someone gets it :wot:

It is first look release! and has been released and is available locally in indian video stores! cover looks simillar to metrodome release!

So what are the details on the First Look release? Since they released it so soon after the Metrodome version with a similar cover, I'm hoping it's similar in quality and content. Is it the cut version (I know it has been previously confirmed that it's the international version, but it was also confirmed that this was supposed to release in March)? If anyone can provide details on sound and picture quality along with special features included, it would be appreciated.

Well since a friend wanted Asoka on DVD, I've ordered this First Look one from IW - let you know when I get it to see if its any different.

I think the First Look Pictures DVD of asoka has officially released. My local Indian DVD store is getting it in stock today.

I hate to admit to this but I am afraid the Asoka dvd is far more superior to the Lagaan DVD and Asoka is a clear winner....yeah i know wot u all are thinking....tell us something we did not know!!!

One other thing after watching The above two watch any other indian dvd film straight after and u will think your eyes have gone blurry or your tv/sound sytem is kaput!!! - Thats how bad Indian dvds are nowadays!!!
