I guess I'll have to review it to see if there is real
progress from Ayngaran.

Ayngaran's first 16:9 enhanced disc, Alai Payuthey, had quite a few problems, but their subsequent discs were better. I'm not getting my hopes up just yet, but Ayngaran seems to be the only company that tries to improve. Hopefully the move to 24p means that they are now doing telecine in a state-of-the-art UK facility with better technicians and technology than at Prasad.

The store I go to has the pirate for rent, probably made from the VCD. They're also selling it for $14.99 :baaa:

Anytamil.com and dvdunlimitedonline.com have the DVD for preorder. Anytamil's price is $16.95 and dvdunlimited online's price is $17.99.

http://store.anytamil.com/kaakekaakedvd.html

http://dvdunlimitedonline.com/shoppin....id=1647

DVDunlimitedonline says, "Pre-Order and Save $2.00. Regular Price $19.99. Regular Price will be effective after Dec 5th."

Neither site is giving a big enough discount to make preordering worthwhile.

it has Telugu subs? :sus: is it in telugu script or is it transliterated? progressive? really? :D I LOVE YA.

Does this mean Shivamani 93249238410948230 will also be 24fps? its no kaaka kaakaa or kaaki kaaki(crow), kukka kukka(dog), but still a fun movie :p

Kaaka...Kaaka is now released.
Its a 2 disc edition and the 2nd disc has all the bonus features such as interviews (pretty good), making of(not very in depth, just commercial), photos and few other things.
I haven't tested the Disc n°1 on amp with 5.1 Ex but picture is good as with majority of Ayngaran's' dvds. As for progressive I haven't tried either.

Will let you know when I find more.

Is this place for real? They seem to have Kakka Kakka in the catalog. Unclear as to if they have it or not. Boys is said to be available Dec 30th.

Anyone order from them before?

The DVD can't be a Progressive unless they redid it again elsewhere after doing once at Prasad Digital! Prasad used a new updated encoder for this movie to maintain high quality video even while providing DTS/DD audio options.

The cover art sucks! It makes the movie look like a love story. Where are the guns?? Dammiiittt!!!! :p :)

Btw, the movie got a '18' certificate, isn't that like 'R'-restricted in the US. I was hoping for an unrated version. :baaa:

Mr Pillairaj.. yes this place is for real. We have Kakka Kakka available in Catalog now. Please do not hesitate to order, because this DVD is going like crazy. First time with 6.1 Dolby EX, making of Kakka Kakka, director's interview etc.

Above all, this movie has deleted scenes and OPTION to choose climax...

Mr Spike86, the rating that Ayngaran gives is based on British Board of Film. This is not applicable to US rating.

Also I agree, the cover could have been far better. I was hopping it will have this cover

http://gallery.musicindiaonline.com/display....6&pos=6

I am sure Tamilini could have done a decent job...

Regarding Boys, yes the tentative date is Dec 30th. But the latest we know from Ayngaran is that this one will also include Making of Boys, interviews and censored scenes. Lets hope its coming soon.

Thanks

I used to order from themahal.com but theirs and most other stores' service seem ambiguous because of a lack of contact information on their site as far as address and phone numbers. Some just think that a 'contact us' link is enough. You know who you are! Plus I used to order from themahal due to their free shipping. Even that doesn't work out since they raised the minimum $$ you have to spend.

Anytamil, however seems to have their own addresses and phone numbers listed and therefore seem more reliable and willing to do customer service. Plus they're cheaper! People like me do notice this stuff.

I mean, if you're in this business, atleast have the courtesy of giving up a regular phone number, let alone a toll free number. So well, with me spending atleast $400 in DVDs per year, I'm thinking of giving my business to Anytamil until the others take note!! I just ordered Kakka Kakka and Dhool from them!!!
