I mean, how to recognize on pc-based soft-players whether the dts track is 5.0 or 5.1... for example, the earlier DVD of waterworld (kevin costener) was 5.0 audio and only the latter dts editions were 5.1

Just to let anyone interested know...don't buy the single disc release of Parineeta by Excel. It is horrible. However the 2 disc version that is shown here is reasonably good.

The Excel two-disc dts edition comes in an amaray case available inside a cardboard slipcase with an extra flap and with nice golden tone...

and one of the rarest hindi-movie DVDs with HINDI subtitles in addition to bengali, tamil, telegu, malayalam, kannada, arabic, gujarati, french, spanish, dutch, german, malay, italian

is there any way to 100% recognize on PC-based players such as windvd, powerdvd whether the dts is 5.0 or 5.1? I am getting varying results...

BTW, apart from DTS audio Excel version has more Extras than UTV Extras:

Ch 3 Extras: 5:30 min more (16 min vs 10:30 min) in "lights and Shadow" or something like this

Ch 5-Excel Extras : 30 min of solo Saif Interview (Not in UTV)

Ch-8-Excel Extras: MunnaBhaai Meets MG Teaser 2-3 min.

Parineeta dts has been released as a single disc also in India by Excel.

Now:
1. Two-disc dts edition by Excel
2. One-disc non-dts edition by Excel
3. One-disc dts edition by Excel

The Excel 2-disc dts edition has promotions of Munnabhai 2 in the second disc -- alas, VVC decided to finally give it to Eros and it was ruined from the 5.1 audio perspective.
