This looks like a very nice package, and I would love to see Chale Chalo, but Rs. 1999 is about USD $50! I don't need the film strip or the coin or any of those physical extras.

Buy the Lagaan Single DVD for 399

Folks,
All the suggestions and expectations in this thread were forwarded to Excel Home Videos... and they have heard us!
I have a mail from them saying that they hope to live up to our expectations!
Cheers for Zulm.Net and cheers for Excel!
Regards,
Deepinder

Apparently the movie is only available split onto 2 discs in the box set. I don't want to buy another single-disc version when I already have the Sony disc.

Maybe when this DVD is released it will be available for order from other sites that ship to the US.

On a side note, Lagaan was number 14 on Channel 4's 50 Films To See Beofre You Die last weekend.

Not sure but I don't think so... in the e-mail I got from Excel they do say "premium edition will have dts."

BTW, what do you think, re 1080P upscale of SD on PS3? I am loving it. I am returning my XA2, I dont need it any more for marginal difference and slow transport.

Looks good what I have seen so far (little).

Well, please release the HD master. I'm not buying another DVD version after Sony's. And with uncompressed sound.

Releasing on 15 June -- the exact date in cinemas 6 years ago.

Will have 30 minutes of deleted scenes -- including a deleted song -- I think the CTS DVDs do have a deleted song too... right?

The CTS DVD had a deleted scene, not a song.
