one easy way to check is if the disc is less than 5gb, usually around low 4gb point its single. if the disc is greater than that, say 6 gb, then its dual.

another way to check is the now discontinued DVD Decrypter. think power dvd will let you cehck as well.

I really don't care if this was 1000 layers, still looks like crap :P

Read Arsh's dupe warning too late. Just picked up one of the dupes, rental, that Arsh stated. This video store, generally, doesn't keep dupes. But he must have been made to believe that it's original Dutch version. What makes it a dupe is that it has EROS holograph on the cover and AMC on the disc.

Anyway, this one is pretty good disc. Very good Pseudo-Progressive with clear 2-3 pull down. May be even Kria/ Net Effect disc may not be as good??
This disc is 5.6 GB in total of which .6 GB is used up un-neccessarily for repeated songs. Av bit rate is around 5 mbps and audio is 384 kbps 5.1 (real or same audio in all channels??).

--------------------------------------

Any idea, if AMC Dutch version is PAL?? If yes, it sure will be progressive by default.

this is DL rana!! Copy it :lol:It might be the best one ever available! for comparing with NET EFFECT's 2 Disc masterpiece!

BTW!! DUS was filmed in PANAVISION and have been used very well, giving film a very polished and stylish look, split screens has been used quite a bit but does not go over board and used judiciously.

Asambhav was another film that was shot in PANAVISION but it was a Stinker! while Dus is watchable once despite being very poorly etched story and plot.

Dus should be just watched for GOOD/STYLISH CINEMA WORK and ANOTHER FABULOUS PIECE OF ART WORK by PUNKAJ KAPOOR..that Man ROCKS! again after MAQBOOL!

Lot of DVDs were damaged due to the packaging. There was a very thin hair like plastic thread that runs across the disc holder which scratches the the disc. Atleast more than 50% of the copies we received had these scratches. Returning all of them today back ot the distributor!

That's a tough one.

If the disc was in North America, 99.99% of DVD players will complain for the region descripency and also for non-NTSC disc. We still won't know wheather it's PAL, SECAM or whatever, if it doesn't play.

In PAL countries, 99% of players will play PAL, as well as, NTSC discs. It's done automatically. Then, how do we tell in Europe, what TV format is the DVD??

Any zulmi gurus??
