Actually I should have mentioned in my earlier post that I was referring to primarily Samsung Audio/Video products.

Sony are good but expensive compared to others and keeping in mind that technology is moving fast there are always other models on the market that has a new function or gadget.
I personally can not justify spending over £300 for a sony dvd player. I have had Toshiba dvd player for 2 years and it has had no problems, I am very happy with the quality.( my brother in-law has a sony and I could not see any significant differnce).
