A Progressive DVD does not offer any advantage for the people with regular TV sets, no matter how big the screen size is. As all NTSC TV's requires 59.94 Fields per Second video to display, all the film content needs to modify (from 24fps). What we see on a TV is Video no matter how it is originated. Most if not all DVD's precisely do the above. They encode or modify the content to display stuff (recorded on film) on a television set.

Progressive DVDs, just by being progressive, do not provide better viewing on regular interlaced TVs, but when you step through individual frames or use slow motion on progressive DVDs, there aren't any combing artifacts.

guys i have a question about these 2 in 1 disc.... are they recorded on DVD-R's or real DVD media like the legit people...

cause I boughtthe Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai / Tum Bin combo from a local retailer, and the disc won't play in my Toshiba DVD player... However the disc still plays fine in my PS2. From what I saw on my small TV (not the big one, cause thats connected to Toshiba), the print was good and the sound sounded lively. They looked exactly like the Video Sound copies except they won't crap out after a while...

I'm gonna keep the discs nonetheless, but should i attempt for an exchange? DO you think a new copy would work on my Toshiba - SD2108??

All the ones I've come across are proper DVD media - and not DVD-r - all have been on dual layered discs.

I have the Tum Bin/Muche Kuch Kehna Hai DVD Combo and it plays on all my solo players (Panasonic rv31/rp82, Pioneer DV 414/333). In fact all of the 2in1's play flawlessly.

Lamhe which ever copy is used is poor by any standards. YRF DVD of Lamhe is still not out.

One other I’ve come across is Hathyar/Vaastav 2in1. Vaastav is the non-anamorphic Eros DVD and Hathyar is some crappy non-anamorphic cropped pirate and not the Eros DVD.

I have Hathyar/Dil Vil Pyar Vyar and it is the original ERO$ print which is anamorphic and same with DVPV.

I never mentioned anything about Lamhe/Chandni, if it is released Chandni will probably be the DEI (hopefully) and Lamhe maybe the Samrat or ERO$ version.

Recently I purchased the Saajan/Aashiqui 2in1 DVD and Saajan is the DEI version while Aashiqui is some piss poor one (probably T-Series) but in OAR.

If anyone wants a 2in1 DVD in the UK I am willing to send it there from Canada for $9.99 US dollars. Let me know. The Pakwebstore hiked their prices and are selling them for $14.59 US which is $22 Canadian.
