Well I can think of a movie when they got a sikh like a sort of tough guy.
In Coolie, when Iqbals uncle tries to beat the shit out of this guy with a big whatchmacallit before his arm gets chopped. It doesnt have him as a thicko. Or when he carries the luggage. I know its an old film but its an example

In my understanding there are 2 kinds of sikh's one who have "taken Amrit" and carry the 5 k's with them (kara, karpan etc) and those that haven't taken the amrit. The ones that haven't don't alwayz follow/or have the 5 k's like Kesh with is unshorn hair put up in a pagari......

Nice article Ali.

I am curious to know the films credited to Sardar Malik (Anu Malik's father) and to Anil Kapoor's father (I think the name is Surinder Kapoor). I think Sardar Malik is known for music and Surinder Kapoor for Direction. Are the still alive??

Every group in India is poked fun at, be it the "Madrasis", Gujratis, Parsis, UPhites, Biharis, Bengalis and even Nepalis (they only seem to be watchmen:p ) . In fact Punjabis have it better, because of the popularity of Hindi films in UK, times are changing we have Gadar and LOBS showing a turbaned protagonist. Now we have songs completely sung in Punjabi like in Kaante or at least one number appealing to the Punjabi speaking population.

i don't wish to enter this conversation too much, but i do hav one question:

is there ANY hindi movie where a SIKH wearing a pagdri doesn't dance in atleast ONE SONG???

a sikh is ALWAYS shown in atleast one dance scene. i have always why?

anyone care to answer...
