Red can have noise if the lighting and exposure is not optimised for the shot in question. But if it is I see no need for denoising at all outside of extreme shots.

Only 720p, compression artifacts and downscaling issues at times. But you get the idea.
Imagine this in 4K with no compression problems!
Arri has no chance to beat the upcoming Red cameras. Not with new 2K cameras.
The additional resolution of Red is very relevant.

Arri will release a press release in winter 2009 on thier next Digital cameras. I can't say anything more but it will turn heads!

In winter 2009 you are likely able to shoot 3K with better than RedOne quality for < 10000$ with Scarlet. Arri has nothing to top this in this market segment. For the high end market they maybe have something comparable to Epic at a much higher price. Maybe. If it's just 2K with more DR than a Red One they can't compete. They need a 4K camera with more DR than Epic and not much more expensive.
