seems TRASH-WARIYA will be the first and only bluray dvd, till we get a couple more from sony, and that might not be too soon.

I called before ... but to be totally honest I really do not think calling will do any good as they really do not have a clue. Even if the do release it on Blu-ray after seeing the dismal DVD with crappy picture and sound I don't hold much hope for the Blu-ray. I guess my hopes were high for a good DVD after the recent crop of good DVDs from Eros ... but they are back to their ususal low standards!

It seems that they invested more on the DVD packaging than the transfer. The special features are good though ... I got a kick out of seeing how they had created the Dhoom Tanna song with elements from Amrapali, Jai Vijay and Sacha Jhuta.

it is very obvious when crooks at zeros for penny cost can sell crappy oso SD boxes for 20-25 bucks to wide audience reach, why they would spend their mega haram ke bucks to churn bluray oso, for handful appeal?

Hi,

The Om Shanti Om DVD released by EROS indicates that it is mastered from HD. This is encouraging and shows that they have done a HD transfer. However, cannot evaluate the quality of the transfer until we see it.

Any news about the blu-ray release?? Anyone care to phone EROS US.

BB from HD source was MUCH better than OSO 'supposedly' from HD source. I think EROS lied on the packaging.

Got the OSO DVD yesterday - have to agree - 5.1 sound sucked! We were watching the songs and my wife said 'What's wrong with the sound?' We switched to the stereo soundtrack and it was much better than the 5.1 sound which was quite uneven and badly moxed. Oh and the picture sucked as well.

And you know what!!!
The 5.1 on the movie disc is simply fabulous!! yes, even during songs - it's really good!!! :) :) :) :) :) . :)
Were you guys watching the single disc edition? So is that authored differently?
Or maybe the Indian Eros is authored differently from the US/UK Eros? Just like Cheeni Kum>?
Or maybe a particular batch has the 5.1 problems?
But the Indian disc does have its problems -- it's by Jet Speed Mumbai, and like a lot of their work, it gets stuck/freezes :-(

Mine is the two disc - and as the film progresses the sound gets worse. During the beginning it is good but towards the end ... not so good.

Ok -- I'll chk for the same on my 2-disc after I get it exchange (current disc getting stuck).
Is yours also manufactured by jet speed?
