The film grain is caused by the type of negatives and 35mm film coating (3M) Tamil film-makers are now using. The grain when passed through Prasad telecine causes the grain problem to be apparent. We have tried everything to remove the grain but to no avali. However with the setting on your TV you can turn down the grain by lessening the sharpness button. That is how I over come the grain on my progressive player.
Is the transfer made from the camera negative?
If the grain is ON grain then it should be left in.
Removing it will cause severe DNR artifacts unless
you hire Lowry Digital which costs more than half
the original film itself, or so.
