A new version of Khuda Gawah has been released by Spark - has anyone seen this? Any screenshots?

I wonder how good it will be. It might be the EROS transfer. I think the DEI/EROS version is the best, but I heard that there was a version done on VHS by an american company which was even better,

Is the EROS single release (not DEI) the same as DEI transfer?

I think Eros/DEI did a pretty great job with Khuda Gawah, though it was presented in a slightly cropped aspect ratio. I really like the movie, but I find it a bit of a conundrum: The first half is just great. It's an awesome "desert-setting" film, with a great performance by Amitabh Bachchan, Danny Dezongpa, and Sridevi. The second half, is simply mediocre. Bachchan is barely in it, and Sridevi plays a less likeable role: the daughter of the role she played in the first half. Overall, I think the film is comparable to Hum, wherein, also, the first half is immensely enjoyable, and the second dwindles next to it.

I have a two-tape Indian VHS at hometown in a special pack -- it's very well done -- I think it's by Magnum --- by the way, there is a slightly extended theatrical edition too... with more footage of buzkashi and some other minor extensions.

I really wish Sanjay Dutt was in it rather than Nagarjuna .. I was upset when he left the flick ..

Sanjay Dutt and Mukul S Anand have been jinxed always. First it was Thamma Thamma -Jumma Chumma rivalry. Then it was long in the making Khoon Ka Karz. Then it was Khuda gawah replacement by Nagarjuna. Then it was Trimurti replacement by Anil Kapoor, then it was magnum opus DUS which was uncomplete because Mukul died!

I remember seeing the commercial for Khuda Gawah with Sunju Baba in it and was excited as hell to see Sunju and AB together for the first time (besides Kroadh in which AB had a Special Appearance for a song and they werent together anyway). Oh well .. Thanks for the pic BrownBoy I saw it in your post over at BWT.

I know this thread is related to Khuda Gawah, but speaking of amitabh bachchan, does anyone have the original video release of "Shahenshah" on Gold Video, I think it was a 2 VHS edition, (first time a hindi movie was split onto 2 VHS cassettes). One of a kind for that time.....
