According to Planet Bollywood the music has been delayed;

"For those that expected the highly anticipated musical soundtrack for Sanjay Leela Bhansali´s Devdas to release on March 31st, you are probably quite disappointed.

Universal, which stated that they weren’t going to release the music amidst a normal special function has indeed stood by their word. However, due to the unexpected mourning for the loss of one of Bollywood´s greatest lyricist Anand Bakshi they have postponed the release of the soundtrack.

A new date has not been released for the release of the soundtrack."

Certainly not true! I just got back from my local Indian DVD store, and the Audio/CD of Devdas is now available(atleast in Toronto it is). However, I was a bit skeptical on buying the CD, as it kind of looked pirated. ???

*****9.8/10.0*****

I've just finished listening to its music, and i must say, its one of the best soundtracks I've heard in reccent times. I've heard the album only once and I've instantly fell in love with it. Not many Soundtracks can do that with me, I can't even remember the last time this has happened to me? I think the last soundtrack I fell in love with instantly was either Dil Se, 1942 A Love Story or Maachis. I would say that Devdas music is "Slightly" better than Lagaan & Hum Dil Da Chuka Sanam. Since these two have been the best in the past few years. Devdas is perhaps the best soundtrack to come out this decade (THUS FAR) and don't think I'm making an overstatement here, because I really mean it.

Might as well thank me for this too..b/c I think Empress gets it off my fserve on IRC...which is still easier than the newsgroups. I wonder which news servers carry alt.binaries.indian.mp3, because i can't find it. LalDwarf also downloads from me, and I know he posts on there too. I pray they keep my id3 tags in the mp3s when they post them, else they will have to go elsewhere for their music.
