Detail isn't astronomical, but you can read some of those billboards in the back.

An optical illusion only! Culprit? Khan Opticals conveniently framed in the middle of the shot! :P

Audio Review : Main Meri Patni Aur Woh - Good music that went unheard

Printer friendly page

Producer: Ronnie Screwvala
Director: Chandan Arora
Cast: Rajpal Yadav, Rituparna Sengupta, Kay Kay Menon, Varun Bandola, Vinod Nagpal
Music: Rajendra Shiv, Mohit Chauhan, Nayab Raja
Singers: Naeem Shamim Ajmeri, Rajendra Shiv, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Mohit Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kavita Krishnamurthy

The film came first and then the music. The stir that the music of the film created at the theatres might have led the producer decide to come out with the music in the market. This is a quite hatke comedy film featuring Rajpal Yadav and Rituparna Sengupta. Chandan Arora directs the film. Mohit Chauhan, Rajinder Shiv and Nayab Raja have jointly composed the music.

One of the most ear catching track of the album is ‘Doob Jaana Re’, sung by top-notch singers of the industry Sony Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. The ease of the track reflects in the voices of the singers too as the lyrics of Rocky Khanna flows through. The song boasts of beautiful and brilliant lyrics and music. Its sad to observe that such quality track hasn’t got the much-desired attention that it required. Dedicate this lovely romantic number to your beloved and be at bliss!

Next comes the situational track ‘Paintra’ loaded with humour at every line. The rendition and music are by Mohit Chauhan and Rocky Khanna once again pens the lyrics. He puts the word in such a manner that one enjoys the track as well take hold of the situation that the protagonist is fixed in. The dash of rhythm and extra beats also make the track an enjoyable affair.

‘Guncha’ is a soft and suave number in the voice and composition of Mohit Chauhan once again. A lovely track with soft touches, that is sure to bring the romance out of you. The lyrics by Rocky Khanna are once again commendable, with the light soft words adding to the brilliance of the track. Just glide through this and also the unplugged version and get transformed to a different world. Another worthy number that deserved a large-scale promotion.

Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan enter the scene with ‘Jadoo’. The music is by Nayab Raja and lyrics by Zaheer Anwar. After some appreciable songs so far, this piece doesn’t come up to mark. The tempo is missing and you also observe that the track is bits and pieces of some Bollywood music you have heard formerly.

The good feel return back with ‘Chand Varga’. Sung by Naeem Shamim Ajmeri and Rajendra Shiv, the music is composed by Rajendra Shiv, with lyrics by Rocky Khanna. The rhythm of the qawallis can at once set the floor on fire. This is one track that stands out for its freshness. The piece is enjoyable every time you hear it.

Kavita Krishnamurthy turns to the mike to sing a Bollywood number after a long time. Titled ‘Ye Kya Ho Raha Hai’ this is a solo number from her with music by Nayab and lyrics by Vivek Kumar. The track has the frothy feel that catches your attention instantly. Kavita can be seen delivering her best to the already good track.

The album comes to a close with the theme music composed by Mohit Chauhan. ‘Paintra’ forms the crux of the music and one finds this lighthearted track equally tempting like the other tracks of the album.

Mohit Chauhan is the man of the hour, delivering a good composition for the film. The songs boast of melody and quality. Most of the tracks are appreciable with the right choice of voice and lyrics. This is one album of the recent time that doesn’t deserve a miss!

I watched it recently too! Very good movie but was well disappointed by the ending.. was expecting him to totally lose it and go on a texas chain saw massacre, that would have been good. :baaa:

Excellent and brave casting for the lead role and one fine performance from Rajpal Yadav, he made this movie worth watching.

Long live and prosper Ali bhaii!! 8) I thought movie was a tad slow and very predictable, but still not overtly melodramatic.

Ambience was beautiful and simple!! and I do too, salute Chandan Arora to use unconvential cast with very good results..It was simply a lovely whiff of Guncha!! This movie!! :P
