Although it is sad that YRF over-priced DVDs are just as vulnerable to DVD rot as some of the cheaper ones, I have been impressed by the fact YRF have some sort of interest in their regular customers. Many other suppliers don't even bother replying to emails.

Anyway, within 10 minutes of my reply to their email complaining $20 FOR A 60 DAYS WORTH OF A DVD is not good enough, their response reproduced below was received.

As per above emails Yash Raj Films have replaced a faulty DVD of Silsila within 28 days. On return it was nearly 18 MONTHS old.

Now for all you DEI supporters - Would DEI replace faulty discs sold within even the last 6 MONTHS. If so, please post details of contact person, email, and reference to their refund/policy. Unfortunately its not one DVD that would require a replacement in this case, but dozens and dozens.

IndiaWeekly is the culprit that has sold them, knowing these discs to be faulty. As IW is the retailer linked to Zulm by default, would representatives establish if IW have the grace to replace faulty old DEI discs.

Some response to this post would be interesting, even if it is to continue cursing YRF and singing DEI songs!

Thanks

I would still go for 2 in 1 or Cheaper One, I haven't had any problem till today, sometime original is ok to purchase for 15 bucks but damn yashraj films, heck no, not paying 25 Bucks to watch their crappy 3 hour long movie.

Simple thing is, out of 10, 9 people might even think about quality while watching movie, you can see the difference only when you try to go very close and examine quality of picuture, otherwise always good to go. Yes if you try to push too cheap by buying 3 in 1 and those new 6 in 1, than you will see why you got that for that Cheap

The way forward for me is the 2in1 pirates too, the UK market is flourishing with them now! But my expectations of Indian DVD manufacturers are so low that I get excited if I get a response to my email. In this instance, YRF replaced an 18 month old DVD.... The replacement is just as dodgy though, but its working, so I can make a copy before it starts freezing too...

:D

Hi Armaan,
Recently I called the BEI ppl and told them that some of my dvds are not working and so i need to replace them, and after week when i called them again they told me that they are going to mail them. I hope i will receive mine in a few days. Also, I asked them to visit our Zulm.net and they told me that they are already aware of it and they do check the forums regularly.
The adress and the phone no. is at the back of the BEI titles, So refer to it and there is one Ms Jaspreet (a nice lady), who probably will attend the call, talk to her about your problem and she will take care of that.

And to all those BEI lovers, here are the titles going to be released by BEI
Vintage vol.7- pbly this week
Sohni Mahiwal- next week
Narsimha- after a couple of weeks
Professor, Junglee- the following weeks.

!ENJOY!

Well, BEI crept in, in this thread. A few questions:

1) Does BEI want faulty discs back to replace them?? To me it doesn't make sense to spend postage (whether sender pays it or receiver pays it) on a disc whose value is zero as dcefective disc.

2) Whatever happened to Vintage Tunes # 4, & 5??

3) Vintage 6 Songs are all from DEI titles, many of which are also on Samraat. Which encoding did they use?? Samraat's Field Averaged crap or DEI's Progressive?? Any info??

Rana

UMRAO JAAN is an art film: only some people can appreciate it.... Whereas, PAKEEZAH is more dramatic, typically more like a Bollywood extravanganza and have mass appeal...
