I'm guessing he meant that one should rent the 3 dvd's and then burn each one on a dvd-r. Not that I support either method, but the main problems with this one are:

1)Takes a long time to rip dvd's and then burn them onto a dvd-r.
2)Dvd-r's are not $.50 as of yet. So the cost adds up.

But what are the chances of 3 good films coming out with decent quality at the same time. Best way to go is buy the original of the one you want, because you probably won't watch the other 2 movies anyway.

What I mean is that whoever is mass producing these discs, should use 3 discs instead of 1 disc (make exact replicas instead of further compression; copying or replication, both are equally illegal). Pass on the cost of 2 extra discs, which I assume is 50c each in bulk. Pack all three in one DVD case.

So, the new cost becomes:
$ 10 if one disc used

and

$11 if 3 discs used.

If they want to economise further, don't compromise on quality of the content, use paper sleeves for the discs. This will save them 75c for the DVD case.

Now you are dreaming. Why would they do that? They will make more money selling it individually. $10+$10+$10. The underlying reason why They came out with 4 in 1 TO MAKE MONEY cheaply
